City of Boston launches Rethink City Hall Website

The City of Boston has launched the website Rethink City Hall, promoting a design study that will create and test improvements to Boston City Hall and its surroundings. Reed Hilderbrand will be responsible for the landscape architecture associated with the study, specifically City Hall’s broad terraced plaza.

The Boston City Hall design team is led by Utile Architects in collaboration with Grimshaw (London and New York City) and noted economic development strategists HR&A as well as Buro Happold, Nitsch Engineering, WSP, LAM Partners, and BrightSpot. We are excited to continue progress on Boston City Hall, which has been the subject of previous studies by Utile and Reed HIlderbrand over the past five years. The opportunity to design a world-class civic space in the context of the historic Brutalist masterwork by Kallmann McKinnell & Knowles is a thrilling opportunity for Reed Hilderbrand.
