SCUP Excellence Award for Duke Hybrid Landscapes

Reed Hilderbrand is the recipient of a 2014 Honor Award for Excellence in Landscape Architecture for Open Space Planning and Design from the Society of College and University Planners (SCUP) for the Duke University Hybrid Landscapes. Our project envisions a programmatic and experientially diverse core campus for the University, created through a toolkit of architectural, landscape, and open space measures. Changes to the West Campus, committed across multiple administrations and several generations of students, are aligned into a new and coherent campus fabric.

Principal Eric Kramer accepted the Award at the 2014 SCUP Annual Conference in Pittsburgh this past July. He are very pleased to acknowledge the complex design team with which we’re collaborating: Pfeiffer Partners Architects PC, Stewart Inc., Ecological Landscape Management, Jeffrey L. Bruce Co., Irrigation Consulting, Inc., Grimshaw Architects, James Carpenter Design Associates, Buro Happold, Tillotson Design Associates, Rico Associates, Shepley Bulfinch, Collaborative Lighting LLC. It’s also our pleasure to record the influence and support of Duke University Campus Landscape Architect Mark Hough.
