Jeremy Martin

Associate Principal

Growing up on the Mississippi River delta and observing the dynamic relationships between water, land, and people has shaped the way Jeremy approaches the practice of landscape architecture. A fondness for outdoor exploration, building things, and a high school job at a wholesale plant nursery led him to pursue a degree from Louisiana State University’s Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture, followed by a substantial tenure at Hargreaves Associates, where he contributed to the design and construction of waterfront parks in New Orleans and Nashville and university campus projects in New Jersey and France.

Jeremy joined Reed Hilderbrand in 2014 with a focus on expressive grading and landform, resolving technically challenging site conditions into innovative design solutions, and building enduring relationships with clients, collaborators and craftspeople. He has led the implementation of several complex brownfield, urban, rural, and public design and planning projects including City Hall Plaza in downtown Baton Rouge, LSU’s Comprehensive Campus Master Plan, and Tourists Welcome hotel in North Adams, MA. He is currently overseeing construction of the ‘Longwood Reimagined’ expansion at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, continued development at Tourists and establishment of the North Adams Adventure Trail, and the design of several residential landscapes throughout the Northeast and Caribbean islands.

In his spare time, Jeremy cultivates citrus trees in his home greenhouse, canoes the Mystic and nearby rivers, and hosts seafood boils and an annual cochon de lait, sharing the richness of Louisiana culture with his New England friends and family. He is also Co-Chair of the Boston Society of Landscape Architects Recognition & Awards Committee.
